New Email Account Setup

To login to your new Signal email account, go to https://login.microsoft.com and enter the credentials you were provided.

Be sure you are not at login.live.com - they look similar but are not the same.

You will be prompted to update your password. Enter the current password (provided) and the password of your choice. Be aware that Microsoft will reject common password.

After successfully setting your password, you will see an ‘Action Required’ page. The following actions are setting up your password recovery methods and Multi-Factor Authentication setting. These are for security purposes and it is required. Click Next to proceed.

You will start by setting up MFA. This is done by installing the Microsoft Authenticator App on your phone. The app icon should match the lock icon with a person profile, below. It is highly recommended to use the Microsoft Authenticator App, though you can use other Authenticators, such as Google Authenticator.

After you’ve downloaded the app, click Next.

Click Next again, and a QR code will be displayed. Use your Authenticator app to scan this code.

After successfully scanning the QR Code, you will see the account listed in the app.

You will be prompted to test the authenticator by entering the number displayed into the app.

You will then be asked for a personal phone number and an email address. These are for alternative authentication methods and for password recovery.

You will be asked to validate your phone number by entering the 6 digit code they will text you.

Similarly, you will need to enter a personal email address.

You will be asked to validate your email address by entering the code they will email you.
